WATER SUPPLY TRUCK 

VISITED WESTERLO

The demonstration made by those in charge of the Water Supply Truck sent out by the State College of Agriculture at Ithaca to show how running water can be installed in any farm home was well attended at the farm of Frank Stanton in Westerlo Township last Wednesday afternoon. About seventy two were present and witnessed the practical side of the system. A corner of a kitchen was constructed and successive steps to a complete outfit explained and demonstrated. 

 

COUNTY FARMERS TO 

PICNIC AT ALTAMONT 

Arrangements are being made for the picnic of the Albany County Farm Bureau on the fair grounds in Altamont, Saturday, August 25. 

Each person going has been asked to bring a lunch, as the picnic will be a “basket” affair. 

The general committee has also decided to sell concessions for the picnic. The concessions to be sold are: Ice cream, soft drinks and cigars, candy and fruit, frankfurters and milk.

Superintendent of Highways Ira Saddlemire has a gang of men putting in the abutments for the iron bridge near the home of Sidney Dearstyne. 

 

SOUTH BERNE 

Orville Deitz is putting a new galvanized roof on his barn.

Mrs. Fayette Wyman is entertaining relatives from New York city. 

 

DUNNSVILLE
Newton J. Van Wormer sustained a serious injury to his right foot by the overturning of a load of loose hay which he was drawing to the barn. An x-ray was taken of the injured member which showed the bones of the foot dislocated and driven upwards which will perhaps result in a shortened leg. 

 

DAIRYMEN ORGANIZE 

IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION 

A gathering of dairymen representing an ownership of over 350 head of stock met at Enterprise hall last evening for the purpose of forming the Albany-Schenectady Dairy Improvement Association. 

Jasper Comstock of Altamont R. D. 3 was elected president; Frank Stanton of Greenville, vice president; Jacob Feur of Schenectady R. D. 3 was made secretary-treasurer. 

 

HILL CLIMBING CONTEST 

ON THE MENANDS HILL 

Menands hill, just beyond Mid-City park on the Albany-Troy road, has been selected for the hill climbing contest to be held to-morrow, July 22, by the Albany Auto Club. No entrance fee is required. 

The contest has been restricted to stock cars and motorcycles, and divided into five classes. If weather remains fair, many entrants will participate.
