Lynnette Collier Sands, who loved the natural world and who took extreme joy in being a grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022, in her sleep at her home in Los Gatos, California. She was 69.

“Lynn spent her life among the redwoods and loved the natural world, especially dogs,” her family wrote in a tribute. “A pillar of her family and community, Lynn was defined by her caring nature and excitement to celebrate with friends and family.

“Lynn was raised in Mill Valley, California. A high school track star, Lynn went on to run a construction business with her husband, Christopher, for over 40 years and as well a pumpkin and Christmas tree business, Pooh’s Place, for 25 years.

“Lynn delighted in traveling the world with Chris and had special fondness for Lake Tahoe. She also loved quilting and tending the gardens at the home she and Chris built in the Santa Cruz mountains. Lynn took extreme joy in being a grandmother and thrilled at sharing her love of art with her granddaughter.”

She is survived by her beloved husband, Christopher; by her son, Spencer; by her daughter-in-law, Josephine; and by her granddaughter, Eva Jean. She is also survived by her brother, Douglas Smith and by her niece Jacquline.
