To the Editor:
This letter is being written to the people who walk their dogs in the hamlet of South Berne on Watertrough Road, Church Road, and in the South Berne Cemetery.

Please be more responsible about cleaning up after your pet. There is a law in New York (New York State Public Health Law 1310) that says you must do so.

Other people walk these roads and it has gotten so you must walk with your head down to avoid the excrement. Please curb your dog at your house and not in a public area.

For the people who remember the old Burma Shave signs: Walk your dog, you both stay fit, but please pick up your doggie’s s---.
