BERNE — Clinton M. Jansen, who lived his entire life in Berne, was the third generation on his family farm.

He died on Monday, April 18, 2022, after a brief illness. He was 91.

Born on Oct. 7, 1930, he was the son of Avery and Anna Jansen.

Mr. Jansen retired from Air Products and Chemicals, where he earned an award for safe driving one million miles. He also drove for D and K Carriers for several years.

“He enjoyed raking hay, and working with the cows,” his family wrote in a tribute. “If anything was broken, he’d find a way to fix it. He had quite the sense of humor, and gave us all many laughs.”

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Delores; by his daughter, Holly; and by his step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, and a step-great-grandchild.

His parents, Avery and Anna Jansen, died before him, as did his brothers, Harold and Chester, and his daughters-in-law, Joyce and Marie.

There will be a celebration of his life at a later date this summer.
