Amanda will work for you

To the Editor:
Early voting has started and continues through Oct. 31; Nov. 2 is Election Day. Many of you have already met Amanda Beedle, a Democrat running for town board who might be setting a record for miles walked as she attempts to meet everyone she can on her almost daily sidewalk tours to listen to what’s on the minds and in the hearts of the people of Guilderland.

Amanda will work for you. Amanda knows planned growth is essential but that needs to accompany a diversified tax base that at the same time preserves the important character of our community.

Improved transportation options for our seniors is a must going forward in Guilderland and the scale and design of such planning requires their valuable input. Equally important, a close look at the growing housing needs of the elderly must continue with appropriate, informed steps taken to support their everyday lives.

Amanda would like to see town parks and open space expand; she supports improvements to facilities and programs and wants to continue to grow pedestrian and bicycle networks throughout the town.

Keeping our first-rate emergency medical services team up to date in equipment and support is crucial as is future sound investment in our town police department in order to continue to provide high levels of public health and safety.

Amanda is a tireless advocate for open, transparent government and she encourages active, informed input from constituents.

Amanda Beedle has previously worked for the town of Guilderland as deputy receiver of taxes and deputy town clerk. She has been on the Guilderland Planning Board and was a former trustee and vice president of the Altamont Free Library. She currently works at Capital Region BOCES in fixed asset management.

With her hard work ethic, her ability to work with all types of people, her broad intelligence, and her diverse professional experience, Amanda Beedle is a most unique and very competent candidate for the Guilderland Town Board. She is found on the Democratic line, Row A.
