Beatrice Doreen Pikcilingis

GUILDERLAND — Beatrice Doreen (née Williams) Pikcilingis, a religious woman who loved traveling and being with her family, was a long-time resident of Guilderland.

Mrs. Pikcilingis died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at Ellis Rehab and Residential Center in Schenectady. She was 94.

She was born on Jan. 5, 1927 to the late Joseph and Clara Jane (née Jeffery) Williams of Rotterdam and was a 1944 graduate of Draper High School.

Mrs. Pikcilingis worked for R. H. Macy Company for 24 years, retiring in 1990.

“Doreen was a talented artist and avid swimmer,” her family wrote in a tribute. “She loved spending time with her family as well as traveling both in the United States and abroad. Her primary ambition in this life was pleasing her Heavenly Father and living according to the teachings of His son, Jesus.”

She is survived by her two sons, Robert W. Pikcilingis and his wife, Donna, of Guilderland, and John J. Pikcilingis and his wife, Cynthia, of Fultonville; one daughter, Chrissie D. Williams, and her husband, William, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; and a daughter-in-law Regina (Bailey) Pikcilingis Deese and her husband, Larry, of Athens, Georgia.

She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren: Judith, Corbin, Stewart, Julie, Theresa, Brad, Linda, Ryan, Oliver, and Heidi, and by her 19 great-grandchildren. She is survived, too, by one sister-in-law, Beatrice Pikcilingis of Milford, New Hampshire, and by many nieces and nephews.

Her husband of 55 years, John Pikcilingis, died in 2004; a son, Ronald J. Pikcilingis, died in 1995; and a brother, Richard Raymond Williams, died in 1991.

Funeral services were on Oct. 11 with interment in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam.
