Gloria Chardeen

ALTAMONT — Gloria Chardeen, a mother and grandmother who had worked as a Guilderland school secretary, died peacefully at home in Altamont on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021. She was 80.

She was born in Albany to Henry and Edna Bink on Oct. 10, 1940.

Mrs. Chardeen was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Delmar.

She worked as a secretary for many years for the Guilderland School District, retiring as the secretary to the superintendent. She was honored at a celebration of retirees at the school board meeting on May 28, 2002.

She is survived by her sons, Gregory Chardeen and his wife, Kathy, and Todd Chardeen and his wife, Donna, and by her two grandsons, Corey Hough and Phillip Chardeen. She is also survived by her sister, Alice Schoneman, and her husband, Donald; by her brother, Robert Bink, and his wife, Rose; and by several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, Henry and Edna Bink, died before her, as did her sister, Beverly Riggs, wife of Douglas.

A funeral service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 85 Elm Ave. in Delmar on Friday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Mueller officiating. Burial will be private.

    WESTERLO — Richard “Dick” Rapp died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025. He was 87.

    He was born on Nov. 26. 1937, in Albany, son of the late Herman and Ethel (née Manchester) Rapp. He graduated from Berne-Knox-Westerlo in 1956.
