Todd N. Rolfe

Todd N. Rolfe had served as captain of the Gallupville Volunteer Fire Department. 

SCHOHARIE COUNTY — Todd N. Rolfe, of Murphy Road in the town of Wright, died Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Albany Medical Center after a long decline in health. He was 65.

He was born on June 7, 1956 in Cooperstown, New York, a son of Fritz and Irene (née Settle) Rolfe.

He graduated from Schoharie High School and later began a long career at various companies doing mechanical repairs to large trucks and machinery. He worked for Freihofer’s Bakery, Jack Miller’s Tractor and Truck, and the Schoharie County Highway Department before retiring.

A charter member of the Gas Up, he was a 36-year member of the Gallupville Volunteer Fire Department where he had served as captain.

“Todd enjoyed ‘tinkering’ with anything that had a motor and was old,” his family wrote in a tribute. “He also was an avid hunter and respected the outdoors and mother nature.”

Todd N. Rolfe is survived by his wife, Suzanne (née Remmers) Rolfe, whom he married Aug. 17, 2001; by his daughter, Angela Rolfe-Schmid of Davenport; by his grandson, Bronson; and by two step-children, Amber Landauer-Thomas of West Chester, Pennsylvania and Austen Landauer of Cobleskill, and two step-grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Thomas. 

His parents, Fritz and Irene (née Settle) Rolfe, died before him, as did his brother, Ronald Rolfe.

Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Gallupville, on Route 443 in Gallupville followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. A fellowship will follow in the church hall.
