Dem candidates chosen for their honesty, authenticity, fairness, and trustworthiness
To the Editor:
Berne’s Democratic Committee is pleased to announce its slate of candidates for the November 2021 election:
— Margaret (Peggy) Christman for town supervisor;
— Jennifer Merrill-Fuller for town board;
— Patrick Martin for town board;
— Timothy Lippert for town board;
— Jean Guarino for town clerk;
— Barbara Kennedy for highway superintendent;
— Melanie Bunzey for town assessor;
— Alan Zuk for town judge; and
— Albert Raymond for town judge.
The offices for which these candidates are running have some of the most significant and direct effects on your daily life. Town budgets, community regulations, tax rates, appropriation of funds, and town-wide project proposals all go through the offices they will represent.
Guided by the planks of the Democratic Platform — principled leadership, comprehensive land-use planning, a stronger rural and agricultural economy, sound fiscal management, and enhanced community strength and cohesion — these individuals will create a positive impact on Berne and the community in which we live.
Our candidates were chosen based on four tenets: honesty, authenticity, fairness, and trustworthiness. We hope, over the next several months, that you will come to know them as we do, as fine individuals who are eager to serve the town and the people who live here.
