EAST BERNE — Robert Miller loved his family and his faithful companions, golden retreivers Sable and Zeva.

Mr. Miller died at his home on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014. He was 75.

He was born in Albany on Aug. 13, 1939, to the late Ethan and Emma (née Remley) Miller.

Mr. Miller retired from the Guilderland Post Office in 1999. He was a lifelong fan of the Yankees.

He was married to Linda (née Swain) Miller for 56 years, their union ending only with his death.

“In his earlier years, Bob enjoyed hunting, playing softball, bowling, and snowmobiling, but the farm was his main passion,” his family wrote in a tribute.

Robert E. Miller is survived by his wife, Linda Miller; his four daughters, Virginia Reinish and her husband, Joseph, Denise Kipper, Beverly Miller, and Julie Richardson and her husband, Robert; his seven grandchildren, Jennifer O’Leary, Mark Lounsbury Jr., Sara Reinish, Jessica Reinish, Ethan Richardson, Olivia Richardson, and Eric Richardson; and six great-grandchildren, Zoey Lounsbury, Owen Lounsbury, Logan Boulette, Lucas Coon, Conor O’Leary, and Declan O’Leary.

His sister, Marie Flagler, died before him, as did his brother, Kenneth Miller.

Calling hours will be held at the Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main Street in Altamont on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be at the First Baptist Church in Westerlo on Route 143 at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, with interment to follow in the South Berne Cemetery.
