You’ve called nurses heroes, now vote with us

To the Editor:

Nurses for Biden-Harris — I joined this national group months ago.

We all, as nurses, find President Trump’s disregard for the health of Americans frightening. He has mismanaged the federal response to the coronavirus, downplayed the danger, and ignored scientists and public-health leaders.

As a result, over 215,000 Americans have died from COVID-19 to date and over 8 million Americans have tested positive for the virus.

Nurses and all essential workers have been on the front lines of the pandemic without proper protective equipment and unsupported by this administration. I contracted COVID-19 and fortunately had a mild illness. A cousin who is a registered nurse was terribly sick for three weeks. She decided not to return to her job in a nursing home.

As a nurse, I have taken an oath to care for people and do no harm. This president has caused enormous harm to people and families, especially here in the Capital Region.

You’ve called nurses heroes; now vote with us. Vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, because our lives and future generations’ lives depend on it.
