BERNE — Edna Anne Bunzey, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who traveled to most of the 50 states, died peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 95.

She was born in Town of Wright on Oct. 1, 1924 to the late John and Catherine (née Wrade) Eggers.

She graduated from Schoharie Central High School in 1942. She married Ford F. Bunzey in 1946 and together they raised four sons.

Mrs. Bunzey was a resident of the town of Berne for over 70 years. She enjoyed bowling and gardening. She had traveled most of the 50 states with friends and her sister Alma. She was a member of Hilltown Seniors and the Helderberg Lutheran Church.

Edna Anne Bunzey is survived by her sons, Bruce Bunzey of Westerlo, Glenn Bunzey and his wife, Karyl, of Colorado, Brian Bunzey and his wife, Melanie, of Berne and Garry Bunzey and his wife, Kathy, of Knox; her grandchildren, Brad Bunzey and his wife, Anita, Maureen Engstrom and her husband, Gerry, Leah Britton and her husband, Kyle, Sydney Bridge and her husband, Alec, Laura  Geel and her husband, Jason, and Hailey Bunzey; and her great-grandchildren, Sara, Julianna, Eli, Evelyn, and Emmett.

Her beloved husband, Ford F. Bunzey, died in 1991. Her daughter-in-law, Linda Bunzey, died before her, as did her siblings, Ruth Tittlebaum, Anne Miller, Ernie Eggers, John Eggers, Elsie Siefer, and Alma Burger.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery at 1820 Helderberg Trail in Berne.

Memorial donations may be made to the Helderberg Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1720 Helderberg Trail, Berne, NY 12023.
