Leon Rothenberg, an Altamont native, listens to praise Tuesday from officials for his recent Tony Award.

Leon Rothenberg won a Tony Award this year for sound design for The Nance. Many of his boyhood music teachers sat behind him on the Altamont Village green at a July 30 event honoring him. “I had the honor, privilege, and cooperation of working with the music teachers of Guilderland,” Rothenberg told the crowd.
