NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Westerlo Town Board will continue the Public Hearing on proposed Local Law No. 3-2019 Solid Waste Management Code (SWMC) on Tuesday, November 19. 2019 at 7 PM at the Richard Rapp Municipal Bldg. 933 County Route 401, Westerlo, NY. The purpose of the local law to repeal and replace existing local laws, rules and regulations related to the collection, transportation, disposal, management and recycling of solid waste in the Town of Westerlo. The regular monthly Town Board meeting will follow.

Annual Election Knox Fire District

December 10, 2019

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Annual Election of the Knox Fire District will take place on December 10, 2019 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Knox Firehouse Station #1 located at 2198 Route 156, Knox, New York for the purpose of voting on a Fire District Commissioner for a term of five yeras beginning January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2024. All candidates for this office shall file their names with the Secretary of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Knox Fire District, Frank A. Fuss, no later than November 20, 2019 and such nominations shall be submitted in writing. Submissions should be sent to: Frank A. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Annual Election of the Guilderland Center Fire District will take place on December 10, 2019, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Guilderland Center Fire house located at 30 School Road, Guilderland Center, New York 12085 for the purpose of:

Electing one Fire Commissioner for a 2-year term commencing on January 1st, 2020, and ending on December 31st, 2021 

Electing one Fire Commissioner for a 5-year term commencing on January 1st, 2020, and ending on December 31st, 2024  

Proposition to Amend Guilderland Center Fire District Service Award Program as Follows:

THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE GUILDERLAND CENTER FIRE DISTRICT, TOWN OF GUILDERLAND, COUNTY OF ALBANY, IN A RESOLUTION ADOPTED SETEMBER 17, 2019, APPROVED THE AMENDMENT OF THE LENGTH OF SERVICE AWARE PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE FIRE DISTRICT AND ESTABLISHED FOR ACTIVE VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER MEMBERS OF THE GUILDERLAND CENTER FIRE DEPARTMENT TO INCREASE THE ANNUAL SERVICE AWARD CONTRIBUTION FROM $700.00 TO $1,200.00, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2020, PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT SUCH AMENDMENT IS CONTINGENT ON THE GOVERNOR SIGNING BILL A07552/S4207-A INTO LAW BEFORE JANUARY 1, 2020, AND IF THIS BILL IS NOT SIGNED INTO LAW SUCH AMENDMENT SHALL NOT BE EFFECTIVE.

THE CALENDAR YEAR 2019 ESTIMATED ANNUAL COST OF THE PROGRAM IS $35,000.00, WHICH IS $700.00 PER ELIGIBLE FIREFIGHTER, PLUS ANNUAL ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS OF APPROXIMATELY $7,000.00.  BASED ON CURRENT FIREFIGHTER PARTICIPATION, THE ANNUAL COST OF THE AMENDED PROGRAM IS ESTIMATED TO BE $30,000.00, OR $1,200.00 PER ELIGIBLE FIREFIGHTER, PLUS AN ANNUAL ADMINISTRATIVE COST OF APPROXIMATELY $7,000.00. 

Candidates for District Office of Fire Commissioner shall notify the Secretary in writing of intent to run for office and send to Guilderland Center Fire District Secretary, 30 School Road, PO Box 141, Guilderland Center, New York 12085, no later than November 20, 2019.  

All residents of the Fire District duly registered with the Albany County Board of Elections as of November 18, 2019 shall be eligible to vote.
