ALTAMONT — Rose M. Hirst, who, her family said, was a natural caretaker, and a beloved and devoted wife, died on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. She was 75.

Born on March 2, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Bertha Tubbs.

She retired from KMart Corporation after over 35 years of service.

“Rose will be remembered for her strong will and compassion for others,” her family wrote in a tribute. “She was a natural caretaker and a strong woman who cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be very dearly missed.”

She is survived by her husband, Edwin Tymann; by their children, Roland (Barbara), Deborah (Jim), Michele, and Christopher; by her sisters, Gloria and Donna (Tom); by her brother, Richard (Carol); by her many grandchildren; by her great-grandson, Bryce; by her sister-in-law, Sue Anne; by her brothers-in-law, Terry and Jeff; and by many other relatives and friends.

Her siblings — Merlin, Leonard, Louis, Ruth, Evelyn, and Gladys — died before her.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals at 343 New Karner Rd. A memorial service to celebrate her life will begin at noon on Thursday. Interment will follow at Knox Cemetery.
