To the Editor:

I wish to publicly thank the residents of the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School District for trusting me to watch over the education of our children for over 17 years.

School Board service has been both a challenge and a joy. Throughout the years, I have actively sought input and advice from the community at large as well as “outside experts.”

It is my firm belief that it is never wrong to do the right thing and have always tried to do just that. I am not running for re-election and my board service will come to a close at the end of June.

Nelson Mandela may have put it best when he said, “History will judge us by the difference we make in the everyday lives of the children.”

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make that difference not only as a BKW teacher for over 35 years but also as a board member.
