ROTTERDAM — Shelly Lynn Young, who loved her family and caring for others, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018. She was 56 years old.  

“Most importantly, Shelly was a devoted mother and grandmother,” her family wrote in a tribute. “Shelly was also a loving sister, aunt, daughter-in-law and proud owner of beloved dog Peanut.

“Shelly was blessed with amazing family and friends with whom she shared lots of fun times, laughs, and memories. She was loved dearly and will be missed by many.

“Shelly was strong, caring, and generous, often putting the needs of others before her own. She spent her life both personally and professionally helping others.

“Shelly’s greatest pleasure in life was derived from her ability to care for others. In her younger years, Shelly loved to travel and was an excellent chef. She was also an avid animal lover.”

Shelly Lynn Young is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Terry Kremer, parents of her grandchildren Cameron and Charlotte; her son, Shawn Young and his significant other, Brittany McLean, parents of her grandchildren Evan and Ian; and her son, Adam Pitt.  

Graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in the Tranquility Garden (983 Watervliet Shaker Road, Albany, NY 12205) on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m.
