Tracy Pentak

ALTAMONT — Tracy Pentak, 59, of Altamont lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025.

“Tracy was a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter and a friend,” her family wrote in a tribute. “She was the bright light in the lives of so many. She loved her family and friends fiercely and had an unwavering love and devotion for her husband, Bill, of 34 years and her son, Tyler.

“Tracy enjoyed traveling with her family with her grand finale to Italy in February. Thanks to her son, Tyler, she found joy in Legos. Always ready for the next Marvel movie, new craft project or idea,  any computer challenge, and especially cuddling with the dog. She was always the first to offer a helping hand and brought love and laughter wherever she went.

“Tracy, a graduate of Guilderland High School and Albany Business College, retired from New York state service after more than 36 years where she enjoyed beta testing her new Halloween recipes on those she worked with.”

Her father, Victor Harper, died before her.

Family and friends are invited and may visit with her family on Monday, Aug. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main Street in Altamont.
