Virginia Flansburg

GUILDERLAND — Virginia Flansburg, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the Manor at Guilderland Center. She was 75.

She was born and raised in Albany, New York, the daughter of the late Henry and Kathleen Richardson.

“Virginia enjoyed visiting Italy with her friend Mickie,” her family wrote in a tribute. “She loved attending her grandson’s baseball games and was also an animal lover.  She also loved watching football games with her son.”

She is survived by her son, Reggie Flansburg and his wife, Dawn, and their children, Brandan and Brett Flansburg, and by her daughter, daughter Debbie Flansburg, and her children, Amanda and Justin Fields.  She is also survived by her great-grandson, Christopher, and by her sister, Mary McCade, and her husband, Joe.

Her parents died before her as did her brother, John Richardson.

The family would like to thank Donna Sand and the staff of A Wing at the Manor at Guilderland Center Nursing Home for the care they provided to Ginny.

Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, Aug. 1, at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home at 343 New Karner Rd. in Colonie, with a funeral service to immediately follow at noon. Messages for the family may be left online at www.NewcomerAlbany.com.
