46th Senate District citizens deserve debates

To the Editor:

Voters in the sprawling 46th New York Senate District would be well served to see debates between Senator George Amedore and the Democratic challenger Pat Strong.

In view of the geographic size and regional diversity of this Senate district, a debate in each of Amsterdam, Guilderland, and Kingston would go a long way to helping the voters assess the effectiveness of these Senate candidates against the prospect of a Republican or Democratic Senate majority.

George Amedore of course has his four-year record as the 46th District’s Senator. It would be of interest to voters to understand the direction he wants to head in the term ahead.

Mother of five, Pat Strong brings her experience leading the Kingston Business Alliance to the debate as a model for community revitalization.

I think the diverse voters of this sprawling district deserve to understand this race as more than just a battle of yard signs.
