Two chain stores to open at Crossgates

GUILDERLAND — A new eatery and a new clothing store will open at Crossgates Mall this fall.

Hospitality Syracuse Inc. will open a Taco Bell restaurant. Construction will begin soon and last about two months, according to Steve Pinkerton, vice president of Hospitality Syracuse, a Taco Bell franchise.

The restaurant is slated to hire about 40 full- and part-time workers and its hours will coincide with the mall hours. The chain was started in 1954 by Glen Bell who built three taco stands in San Bernardino, California.

Jonathan Reid, a men’s clothing and formal-wear store, is also slated to open at Crossgates in the fall. The store, which will sell clothes and rent tuxedos, will occupy 4,200 square feet and will have an in-house tailor five days a week.
