BERNE —  Linda Stevens Carman died, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Albany Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. She was 74.

She retired as a clerk for the United States Postal Service after 20 years of service. She was the current president of the Hilltown Senior Citizens Club where she was very active.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1943, the daughter of Albert and Marguerite Stevens.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William Carman; by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Joeann Carman; and by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and John Conklin.

She is also survived by her siblings, Philip Stevens, Doris White, Alyce Gibbs, Kathy Walls, and Lester (Rusty) Raymer.

She was the loving grandmother of Rick Riley, Paige Clark, Heather Huth, Christy Staiger, and Jeremiah Conklin. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Erick, Charlotte, Joshua, Maisey, Lincoln, and Edward.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, April 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rock Road Chapel at 96 Rock Road in Berne.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Rock Road Chapel on Thursday, April 26, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie. Mourners may leave condolences online at fredendallfuneralhome.com
