Roll-over crash leads to airlift

GUILDERLAND — Joseph M. Acordia, 17, rolled his vehicle on Altamont-Voorheesville Road on April 5, and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center.

Acordia, of 43 Joy Drive, Loudonville, was driving in the area of Brandle Road at approximately 8:06 p.m., when his 2011 Chevrolet Malibu left the roadway, collided with a culvert, and became airborne, coming to a rest after rolling over, according to a release from the Guilderland Police Department.

Acordia was the only person in the car, and his injuries were not life-threatening; alcohol was not a factor in the accident, said the release.

The Altamont and Guilderland Center fire departments extricated Acordia from the vehicle, and Guilderland Emergency Services and Altamont Rescue Squad members treated him at the scene, the release said.
