Centi unopposed for town clerk

GUILDERLAND — Rosemary Centi, a Democrat, is running unopposed for town clerk.

“I enjoy interacting with and helping people,” said Centi. “I like working at the counter because there is a social aspect to it; you start to get to know and recognize everyone.”

The position has seen a significant change this year as, across New York, municipalities took over the dog-licensing system from the state, a transition that Centi said has gone smoothly. The town clerk in Guilderland also handles passports, which Centi said is normally relegated to a registrar.

“It all goes back to the important services of the town clerk,” said Centi.
