Ella Armstrong accepts congratulations from ladies’ auxiliary President Pat Doner, and holds her certificate for 65 years of active service in the unit. The presentation was made Saturday at the annual Altamont Fire Department installation dinner, held at the Settles Hill Tree Farm Banquet House.
Celebrating her 100th birthday, Egeziaca Rufa, left, stands with her children, from left, Ida Pironi, Josephine Cestra, and Peter Rufa. Mrs. Rufa was born on Nov. 20, 1913 in St. Angelo, a small town in the province of Frosinone in Italy. She came to America on Sept. 29, 1954 at the age of 41 and lived in the Bronx until 1989. She lives now in Westerlo.
