Cathy S. Lawler

ALTAMONT — Cathy S. Lawler, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at home, surrounded by her family. She was 64.

Mrs. Lawler was born on July 1, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, and is the daughter of Charlotte M. (Cockcroft) Roeder, and the late Harry E. Roeder.

She graduated from nursing school as a registered nurse, and started her career at Albany Medical Center, before becoming a school nurse at the Altamont Elementary School, and eventually working at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home. She retired from the Island Peer Review Organization in 2005.

Mrs. Lawler enjoyed her camp in the Adirondacks with her family.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Paul J. Lawler; her children, Andrew P. Lawler, and his wife, Shannon, of Latham, and Jennifer G. Kirby, and her husband, Christopher, of Schenectady; her grandchildren, Andrew P. Lawlor Jr., Morgan A. Lawler, and Thomas C. Kirby; her siblings, Caren Roeder, and Richard Roeder, and his wife, Brenda; and her nieces, Sarah and Charlotte Roeder.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 5, at the New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, in Colonie.
