Joseph Hamman

Joseph Hamman

GUILDERLAND — Joseph Hamman of Guilderland, is described by his family as “a caring, gentle, and kind person who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone.”

Born in Niskayuna on Nov. 12, 1949, he died from kidney disease at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s in Albany on Friday, July 21, 2017. He was 67.

“He enjoyed every moment of his final days surrounded by family and friends,” his family wrote in a tribute.  “Joe was a wonderful man, father, and PopPop!...He loved spending time with friends, and absolutely adored his family, especially his grandchildren.

“Joe found great enjoyment being out ‘wheelin’ and dealin’’ in his pickup, buying and selling most any type of equipment for the business he owned, which he built from the ground up. Whether at work or at play, he went out of his way to make people smile and laugh and always hoped to brighten their day.

“He was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ. ‘God's way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection’ (Psalms 18:30, New Living Translation). Joe felt truly blessed and thankful in his life, just as his family and friends feel for having known him. He will be deeply, deeply missed by so many.”
