Pitcher and outfielder Nick Grabek will play this week at the Connie Mack World Series in New Mexico with the South Troy Dodgers 18U team. A Guilderland graduate, he is bound for Fairfield University in Connecticut to play Division I baseball. The World Series teams are made up of players ages 16 to 18 from across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico; 16 teams will compete for the championship.
Shortstop Cameron Collett, a recent Guilderland High School graduate, will travel with the South Troy Dodgers 18U team to the Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, New Mexico this week. In the fall, he’ll play Division I baseball for Marshall University in West Virginia. The league is named for Cornelius Alexander McGillicuddy, the longest-serving manager Major League Baseball history.
