Catherine S. Anderson

ALTAMONT — “Catherine S. Anderson began her next great adventure on July 10th at 4:44 p.m.,” her family wrote in a tribute. “May her beautiful soul begin its peaceful journey reunited with her late husband, Richard H. Anderson.

“Catherine was a poet/dreamer who adored traveling and gazing at the sky, be it clouds or moon or stars. She spent countless hours doing so with her family’s tacit approval.

“She was a music aficionado who loved everything from Coldplay to Willie Nelson, The Eagles to Pavarotti. She was a prolific writer of poetry and cherished her time with her poetry group, and her voice was often heard as a contributor of essays and poems for WAMC radio in the 1990s and early 2000s.

“She departed loved and surrounded by all of her family.”

A celebration of her life will be held at the Thacher State Park visitors’ center on Friday, July 14, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-3000.
