NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget of the Knox Fire District of the Town of Knox, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Knox Fire District, for its consideration.
A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Knox Fire Station, 2198 Berne Altamont Road, Knox, New York 12107, in the Town of Knox, State of New York on the 18thday of October, 2016.
Pursuant to Town Law §105, the Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, allow the public to comment on the budget at the public hearing. This public hearing must be held to allow maximum public participation in the hearing.
The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same.

TOWN HALL ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PROJECT-CONTRACT #1
All bids shall be provided in sealed envelopes clearly marked Town of Westerlo Contract #1 BID ENCLOSED. All bids shall be submitted prior to the date and time given in the invitation and addressed the Town Clerk of Westerlo, Attention Kathleen Spinnato
Work shall include but is not limited to:
ABATEMENT OF ALL ASBESTOS CONTAMINATED MATERIALS IN THE BASEMENT AND CRAWL SPACE AREAS OF TOWN HALL.
Work shall commence within ten days of notice to proceed from the Town and be complete within 30 consecutive Calendar days from said notice.
Bids shall include a 5% Bid Bond and exclude sales and compensating use taxes on materials incorporated into the work. The successful bidder, to whom the contract is awarded, will not be required to provide a payment and performance bond equal to the full amount of the Contract. The Bid will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who has the experience, qualifications and ability to meet the time schedule for the asbestos abatement contract.
New York State Prevailing Wage Requirements shall apply to this project.
Bids actually received by mail or by hand after the appointed time on the date specified shall be rejected. All sealed bids shall include one original and one copy of the bid forms.
Bid documents may be examined at Town Hall during normal working hours. Bid documents are available free of charge in digital format on CD-ROM if picked-up at the Town of Westerlo, Town Hall. All interested bidders must register their company information with the clerk. Optional hard copies of bid documents are available for an additional non-refundable reproduction fee of $25. All checks shall be made out to the Town of Westerlo.
