Seniors seek stimulus checks

The deadline to receive an economic stimulus payment from the Internal Revenue Service is next week, and the IRS is encouraging retirees and veterans to apply for theirs.

‘Keep tobacco ads away from kids’



ALBANY COUNTY — In a unanimous decision, the Albany County Legislature last week passed a resolution asking businesses to reduce, re-arrange, or eliminate their tobacco advertising.

ALBANY COUNTY — Winter weather has contributed to four car accidents handled by the Albany County Sheriff’s Department, where there were no injuries and no tickets issued. A fifth accident sent the driver to the hospital.
