ALBANY COUNTY — Mark S. Schmidt of Altamont was sentenced in Albany County Court on Thursday to two-and-a-half years in prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision; upon release, he will have to register as a sex offender.

ALBANY COUNTY — Although millions of dollars are spent every year by taxpayers through their fire districts in the western half of Albany County, just hundreds of the tens-of-thousands of the eligible voters turned out for the commissioner elections on Tuesday.

The entire community is invited on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 7 p.m. to attend Christmas Lessons and Carols at Christ Episcopal Church on Route 20 in Duanesburg. The service will feature sacred Christmas hymns along with scripture reading. Refreshments will follow the program in the Parish Hall.
