A new course taught by Rabbi Don Cashman at B’nai Sholom Reform Congregation will look at what Reform Judaism has to say and teach about creating a Jewish money ethic.

“Creating a Jewish Money Ethic” will be offered Thursdays beginning Jan. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the synagogue at 420 Whitehall Road in Albany.

 

ALBANY COUNTY — Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County offers a four-week Strengthening Families Program for youth ages 12 and older and their parents or caregivers.

The series begins on Wednesday, Feb. 5, and runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. for four weeks: Feb. 5, 12, and 26, and March 4.

The other day, I found myself in Grand Central Station in Manhattan on the way to an event. I had some time to kill so I decided to hang around the station for a while.

The State University of New York at Potsdam has announced students achieving honors for the fall 2019 semester.

 

One local student, Elias Assimakopoulos of Schenectady majoring in music education, was named to the dean’s list with a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher.

Track teams from Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Guilderland, and Voorheesville, traveled to Springfield College in Massachusetts on Sunday to take part in the third annual Ed Cepiel Springfield Invite against 25 other teams.

Laurie Carbo-Porter, Ph.D., RN, has been named dean of nursing at Maria College.
