All friends and family of Jacqueline (née O’Brien) Robinson are invited to a Celebration of Life on  Sunday, July 26, 2020.

ALTAMONT — Buddy Munroe’s first memory as a child was tossing empty tin cans around in an old, doorless garage.

The Weekend Cruisers gave the couple Joe and Terry Church of 70 years a plaque to commemorate their wedding anniversary.

“I think people need to realize that reopening is not flicking an ‘on’ switch. It’s a dial of continuum,” said Albany County Health Commissioner Elizabeth Whalen on Wednesday as the Capital Region entered the third of four reopening phases.

BERNE — Roy B. Jones Sr. — a State Trooper, a church-goer, and a family man who loved the outdoors — died peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Friday, June 12, 2020. He was 87.

Stanley Charles Merrill was a kind, temperate man whose passion for family— and crossword puzzles — ran strong through his 87 years of life. He died on Sunday, June 7, 2020, in Venice, Florida.

— Tessa Hughes of Delmar, competed on the 2020 State University of New York at Oneonta women's lacrosse team during the recently completed spring season;

These local students were named to the dean’s list from their college or university for the spring 2020 semester:
 

— Alexandra Stevens of Altamont, majoring in interior architecture at Endicott College in Massachusetts with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher; 

These local students have been named to the Siena College President’s List for the Spring 2020 semester, each with a 3.9 grade point average or higher:

— Nicole Anzalone of Schenectady;

— Lydia Cartwright of Schenectady;

— Delaney Corrigan of Delmar;

— Marcella DeAngelis of Voorheesville;

“Enforcement goes down to the consumers and the workers,” said Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy.
