Public comments on a report on the natural-gas extraction process were mostly about the potential harm it could bring and how such information was missing from Westerlo's draft report. One was in favor of the process.

Monday, May 5, was my Zoey day. She is still cutting two top front teeth. We learned a new gesture, today. I pointed at Reba and said; “dog,” then Zoey pointed the exact same way. Babies do learn fast. 

Danielle packed some little blueberry muffins and Zoey loved eating them after lunch. 

KNOX — A longtime volunteer with the Knox Fire Company Auxiliary, an aid for the elderly, and a local Cub Scout den leader, Mary Sherman was honored by the New York State Office for the Aging on May 6 with an Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Award.

Eva Messer died in 1870. Her gravesite has intrigued visitors more than 100 years later, most recently a pair of men and a Facebook group interested in installing a new gravestone.

Monday, April 28, came and it was cold and dreary. I wrote my news and took it to Altamont. The day passed quickly just getting loose ends tied up. I had to think about getting the furnace cleaned and setting up an appointment.

We would like to say thanks to everyone who supported our Easter program. We were able to provide Easter dinner for over 40 families in our community.

We were also able to give each child a basket from the Easter Bunny.

Two incumbents, Chasity McGivern and Vasilios Lefkaditis, and a newcomer, Russell Chauvot, are running for the Berne-Knox-Westerlo school Board. The results could significantly change the way close votes fall.
