KNOX — Bruce A. Newcomb Sr. of Knox died in Albany with his loving family by his bedside on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

He was the son of Shirley and the late William Salisbury. He was the beloved husband of Kelley Mackey-Newcomb.

GUILDERLAND — When Scott Abraham read about farmers committing suicide, he decided to do something about it.

He read about families that had owned their farms for generations but couldn’t carry on. “It was just too tough … They can’t find help,” he says in this week’s Enterprise podcast.

“There’s going to be what’s called a citizen-requests tracker,” Supervisor Peter Barber told the town board at its June 6 meeting, “where citizen issues come up and then there’ll be a response and then you’ll be able to track it as it goes through.”

“We’re trying to be as helpful as possible when they approach us because most municipalities couldn’t afford to pay for fire services,” said Albany county legislator Mark Grimm.

On Tuesday, June 13, Guilderland Athletic Director David Austin spoke to the school board about the student athletes accomplishments from this years seasons in the fall, winter, and spring.
