To the Editor:

Think government corruption exists only in Albany or New York City? Think again. The incumbents on the Guilderland Town Board are involved in a pay-to-play scheme that would make our founding fathers cringe!

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland YMCA provides after-school programs at the following Guilderland School District elementary schools: Guilderland, Pine Bush, and Westmere as well as at the Guilderland YMCA.

To the Editor:

According to humanesociety.org, every eight seconds, at least one animal is put down in kill shelters for one reason only: People don’t adopt enough animals from kill shelters.

To the Editor:                 

Piles and piles of homework you see on your child’s desk.   You see the strain on your child’s face.

To the Editor:

You carry a one-pound football? They carry an 80-pound human.

You have three hours to play the game? They have two minutes to show the judges what they’ve got.

You wear a helmet protecting a ball? They wear bows protecting a human.

To the Editor:

Horseback riding, many say, is not a sport. Well, I am a rider myself and riding really is a sport. It is way harder than it looks.

A lot of people think that the horse does all the work; the horse does work but the rider has to give the horse the commands to do whatever the horse has to do.

To the Editor:

Do you think that baseball is just a couple of kids standing around and hitting balls with bats? If you’ve never played it, you don’t really know that.

To the Editor:

 Shortened lunch means there will be more fat kids in our society. (We don’t want that, do we?)  When the students wolf down their lunches, they are consuming more calories in a short amount of time; that means they absorb more calories than needed.

To the Editor:

Do you like to express yourself through fashion? Did you just buy a cute outfit that you really want to wear to school? Well, what if you didn’t have a choice on what to wear to school? Would you like to wear a school uniform, or not?

At Dave and Buster's Crossgates Mall opening, bartenders stood on their bar to juggle bottles while patrons played a variety of games.
