In the last month, Guilderland Police have twice turned over foreign-born men to federal immigration officials — once following a routine traffic stop in which no tickets appear to have been issued. Lawlor said that it is up to an officer’s discretion, whether or not to contact immigration officials to examine someone’s documentation.

Our area farm stands and farmers’ markets seem to burst with abundance in October.  The pyramids of pumpkins, apples, and squash remind us that it’s harvest season.

It was a tough week for the Guilderland soccer team Head Coach Curtis Snyder said the effort was there even though the results weren’t. Guilderland traveled to Niskayuna last Thursday evening and lost a game that was closer than its 2-to-0 score.

The Guilderland girls’ field hockey team team faced off on Tuesday against Bethlehem in the first-round Class A matchup where the Dutch fought to win, 3 to 1. The Dutch will face Shenendehowa Tuesday afternoon at Shen at 3 p.m.

An initiative to bring happiness through out the county, Jackie Jack of Touch of Country participated in bringing 100 bouquets to strangers.

Altamont Elementary fifth grade students learned how to bake bread last Wednesday at school then brought home to make two loaves, one being donated to the Altamont Food Pantry.

A new spa is being built inside Crossgates Mall in Guilderland officially opening in November.

GUILDERLAND — Boy Scouts from St. Madeleine Sophie’s Troop 50 will be holding their annual bottle drive on Saturday, Oct. 14.
