As Santa checks his “nice list,” a little boy, left, waits with bated breath to see if he’s on it; he was. On Sunday night, Santa Claus made his annual visit to Altamont, arriving by train to culminate the Victorian Holiday Celebration.

New this year was a contest for Victorian beards and mustaches in which Clair Husselton, from Altamont won top honors for best creative moustache.

The hands of a poet, Meghan Marohn from the Troy Poem Project type poems on demand. Marohn used an old-style manual typewriter to quickly write verse based on requests by customers at the village hall community room.

Fresh meat: Adding flavor to the Victorian Holiday a pig roast was held outside Mio Vino restaurant where patrons could eat pulled-pork sandwiches and other delicacies.
