On Friday and Saturday, the Guilderville girls swimming team, made up of Guilderland-Voorheesville students, swam at Shenendehowa High School for the Suburban Council Championships. The team finished 5th overall with 216 points.

Ready to go: Guilderville’s Stella Trickett gets ready to push off from the starting board in the 200-meter medley relay in the backstroke on Saturday afternoon at the Aquatic Center on the campus of Shenendehowa High School. The relay team won its heat against Saratoga and finished third overall in the Suburban Council with a time of 1:51.04.

And away she goes: Guilderville’s Avery Sommo leaps far from the starting board in the 200-meter freestyle on Saturday afternoon. Sommo finished sixth in her heat and 26th overall with a time of 2:11.30.

As water falls down her face, Guilderville’s Rachel Lai swims the butterfly portion of the 200-meter individual medley on Saturday afternoon. Lai finished third in her heat and 23rd overall with a time of 2:31.89.

Cruising along: Guilderville’s Gianna Carsillo takes a breath while battling hard in the 100-meter freestyle race against her teammates and Saratoga swimmers. Carsillo finished third in her heat and 24th overall with a time of 59.56.

Going hard: Guilderville’s Kelly Keaney gets in a breath of air while she swims down her lane as she competes in the 500-meter freestyle event on Saturday afternoon. Keaney finished ninth overall with a time of 5:39.67.

Bed of water: Guilderville’s Stella Trickett leads the way in the 100-meter backstroke heat against some of her teammates and three from Saratoga. Trickett won the heat and finished fourth overall with a time of 1:00.31.

Water everywhere: Guilderville’s Brooke Sommo swims the butterfly portion in the 200-meter medley relay on Saturday afternoon at the Aquatic Center on the campus of Shenendehowa High School. The relay team finished third overall with a time of 1:51.04 and the team, which combines swimmers from Guilderland and Voorheesville, finished fifth with 216 points.
