Photos: Guilderville’s Best Compete at States
Three relay teams along with four individual swimmers and two divers from the Guilderville team — made up of girls from Guilderland and Voorheesville — competed at Ithaca College in Friday and Saturday at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association state championships.

Arcing start: Guilderville’s Erin Wadsworth starts the 200-yard medley relay, in the backstroke portion, on Friday morning in the preliminary heat race. The team finished seventh overall with a preliminary time of 1:49.53 then came back on Saturday in the “A” final to finished seventh in the state with a time of 1:49.54. Wadsworth swam in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing 50th in the state with a time of 1:01.28.

Like a gymnast: Guilderville's Evanna Peng competes in the 1-meter diving competition Friday afternoon. Here, Peng performs her second dive where she scored 47.15 points; overall, after 11 dives, she finished in 12th in the state with a total of 449.35 points. Guilderville diver Eliana Wallock also competed and finished 40th in the state with 174.35 points.

Gliding through the water: Guilderville's Belen Marriaga swims in the preliminary heat race in the 100-yard fly on Friday morning. Marriaga finished seventh in the heat with a time of 56.80 and swam in the “B” final, finishing 13th in the state with a time of 58.19. Marriaga also swam in the 50-yard freestyle where she finished 25th in the state with a time of 24.67.

Swimming fast: Guilderville's Kasey Keaney swims in the 200-yard individual medley preliminary heat. Here, Keaney swims in the freestyle portion where she finished 31st in the state with a time of 2:11.67. Keaney was also in the 100-yard breaststroke last weekend, finishing 22nd in the state with a time of 1:07.40.
