Santa wears a mask: Toys for Tots were collected Saturday — and will be collected again next Saturday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Albany County Hockey Facility at 830 Albany-Shaker Road in Colonie. Dunkin’ is giving a 10-pack of holiday munchkins and a $5 Dunkin’ gift card to each donor of a new, unwrapped toy.

“Every toy counts,” said Albert Roman, a retired United States Marine Corps gunnery sergeant who coordinates the Toys for Tots drive for the Capital Region, at its launch on Saturday. “The challenges are huge,” he said, because of the pandemic. “We need to show these kids there’s a better tomorrow,” Roman said. “Marines don’t fail … On Christmas Day, we reach over 200,000 kids.”
