“Every toy counts,” said Albert Roman, a retired United States Marine Corps gunnery sergeant who coordinates the Toys for Tots drive for the Capital Region, at its launch on Saturday. “The challenges are huge,” he said, because of the pandemic. “We need to show these kids there’s a better tomorrow,” Roman said. “Marines don’t fail … On Christmas Day, we reach over 200,000 kids.”
