Photos: Swimming To States, Helderberg Valley Sends One

This past weekend, Thursday Nov. 3 to Nov. 5, the Guilderville and Helderberg Valley girls swim teams took to the pool in hopes to qualify for Nov. 17-18 NYSPHSAA championships at Webster High School, just outside Rochester. Helderberg Valley’s Maura O’Donnell will compete in two events.

Helderberg Valley’s Maura O’Donnell swims the breaststroke portion of the 200-yard individual medley. O’Donnell won her heat with a time of 2:13.04 on Friday, then came back on Saturday to be the Sectional champion and qualify for states with a time of 2:12.19. She’ll also be swimming in the 100-yard breaststroke.
