Photos: Birds battle: Boys upset win, girls fall in semis

In the Class B sectionals, the Voorheesville Boys soccer team made a statement it's in it to win it by upsetting the top team in the class Broadalbin-Perth on Tuesday, October 25, while the girls team made it all the way to the semifinals and lost to last years state champion Schalmont on Wednesday October 26.

Nolan scored the winning goal with 13:30 to go in the game; his teammate Braden Racey scored the first goal. The Blackbirds play Ichabod Crane for the Class B title on Saturday at noon at Colonie High School.

On Monday, at the quarterfinal matchup, the Blackbirds won but on Wednesday, for the Class B semifinal match, Voorheesville lost, 3 to 0, to Schalmont, the defending state champion. The game was played at Stillwater High School.
