Photos: Determined Blackbirds capture Central Division title

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the Voorheesville Blackbirds and Mechanicville Red Raiders battled to see who would win the Central Division title at home.

Untouchable: Voorheesville quarterback Ryan Daly runs up the field in the fourth quarter in Saturday’s homecoming game past Mechanicville’s Daniel Motta. Daly ran for 53 yards on 15 carries and scored the game-clinching touchdown. He threw for 309 yards, had 13 completions on 20 attempts, and threw for three touchdowns and one interception in the Blackbirds 34-to-20 win.

High stepping to victory: Voorheesville’s Dalton Esposito busts through the hole while Mechanicville defenders try to bring him down. Esposito ran for 63 yards on 13 carries and made one touchdown. Cooper Smith had 133 yards receiving on four catches and two touchdowns.
