Teeing Off!

This week, varsity golfers from Guilderland and Voorheesville started the fall sports season, hoping to drive their way to sectional titles that culminate this coming spring when the winners travel to state competition.

The Guilderland Dutchmen have five new golfers. Guilderland’s number-one player, Aidan Seery looks to see where his drive went on the first hole of a non-league matchup with Bethlehem Monday morning. Seery shot a 39 in the Dutch’s 313-262 loss to the Eagles at the Western Turnpike Golf Course in Guilderland.

The Voorheesville Blackbirds started the season at the Country Club of Troy to face Lasalle on Tuesday morning. The Blackbirds lost, 171 to 209. With a gentle swing the Blackbirds’ number-one golfer, Robert Erickson, follows through to watch his shot. Erickson shot a 46.
