Unveiling: Michael Gately, general manager of Crossgates Mall, right, and Jennifer Smith, marketing director, pull away a cloth to reveal a drawing of the new hotel planned for Route 20 in Guilderland, next to the mall. The unveiling took place Wednesday morning at a press conference. The five-story Hilton hotel will have 192 rooms and is slated to open in the fall of 2018. The bottom two floors will be “Tru,” a “midscale brand,” and the top three stories will house “Homewood Suites,” an “upscale all-suite brand”; this is the first Hilton dual-branded project, according to Smith.
