Almost like being there: Michael Vincent, left, who grew up in the Hilltowns and worked at John Boyd Thacher State Park for decades, points to landmarks in a photograph of the panoramic view from the park of Guilderland. The wooden fence, made by Vincent, is to generate the feel of Thacher for an exhibit, currently at the Wyman Osterhout Community Center, celebrating the park’s centennial.

Looking at history: As signs and photographs line the wall of the New Scotland Historical Museum on Sunday afternoon, this museum-goer, looks at old photographs that were taken at the once popular pool at John Boyd Thacher State Park, which has since been removed. The museum, located in the Wyman Osterhout Community Center, off of Route 85 in New Salem at the foot of the Helderberg escarpment, is documenting the nearby park’s 100-year history.
