After starting well, the young Dutch baseball team has seen the season go up and down since then. On Monday afternoon, Guilderland traveled to Saratoga to play a key Suburban Council game. The game went back and forth but the Dutch couldn’t hold on to a one-run lead and fell, 6 to 5.

Settling down: Dutchmen's pitcher John Obrien battled throughout the game to keep the Dutchmen close even after Guilderland gave up the lead in the bottom of the first. Obrien went six-and-a-third innings, giving up seven hits, walking two, and allowing four earned runs.

Getting low: Guilderland’s Henry Li swings his bat during the first inning to place a single that scored a teammate. Li had one hit in three at-bats, scoring a run and a run-batted-in.

Keeping it close: Guilderland’s John Obrien releases a pitch in the first inning. After giving up four runs in the first, Obrien kept his team close. Obrien pitched six-and-a-third innings, giving up seven hits, walked two and allowing four earned runs.
